In today’s episode of the upside down, I found myself saying words of encouragement to a Delta Airlines customer service rep who can’t believe her president has done in the space of a week.
“You guys have always found yourselves in a tough spot,” I said “You’ll find a way. You survived Nixon.”
I found myself with the kind of chirpy optimism usually found in my southern neighbours. Dude, I am Canadian and Portuguese. My dual motto should read Not so loud! What would the neighbours think? Yet here I am, calling Delta, to cancel my airline ticket after getting fed up. The Muslim ban proved the tip of an iceberg as President Sauron possibly planned future security checks on cell phones for all foreign visitors. However, the seeds planted to cancel my trip happened on November 9th.
I went to bed shivering from the adrenaline. The impossible happened thanks to the electoral college. My head started to spin as Kellie Leitch, a Canadian Conservative Party Candidate saying the very next day in this statement:
She continued to talk about vetting refugees based on Canadian values, the same woman wanting to form a Barbaric practices hotline during her time in Government. At some point, my head had to stop spinning and a stand needed to happen.
Consider this the opening salvo.
Like a small boat
On the ocean
Sending big waves
Into motion
Like how a single word
Can make a heart open
I might only have one match
But I can make an explosion
I hadn’t seen that message from Kellie Leitch. Wow.
Good song choice!
